So much for the AG saying he was innocent

Didn't know the A-G said that. That oaf Gerard Batten has said:

"An unbelievable verdict at the Old Bailey. Tommy Robinson found guilty on three counts of contempt of court. Sentencing next Thursday. This is a travesty of justice."

It seems to me quite the opposite. Justice is being be done.

Sadly it isn't. I was having coffee with a Magistrate yesterday and we were talking about that very subject....

You don't need to have any legal qualifications (or indeed any other qualifications at all) to be a magistrate.

Correct, but it also gives you an insight into how people from differing backgrounds can be dealt with do differently, despite being up on the same sort of charges.

Yeah right. Scapegoat alert.

Scapegoat for what?
You're using the culture of victimhood to cast Tommy in a light which suits your (and his) agenda.

I think you can blame the left for that, 'tis the social currency de jour.

That depends on whether you're a stipendiary magistrate...

Clearly the right are using it too to legitimise their activities.

It'll be interesting to see what the sentence is, and whether the lack of reporting restriction notifications, incorrect guidance on the judiciary website, and the zero impact on the trial are taken as mitigating factors.
I suspect they won't be.

I don't think TR wanted to get himself arrested and thrown back in prison. If you watch the video of his arrest he certainly didn't look relaxed about it, and he was pretty sure he hadn't broken the law at that point.
The cost of this case Vs the harm caused is grossly disproportionate, that's my biggest issue with this. TR, despite his best efforts, breached a reporting restriction. The judiciary made numerous fvk ups but they get to go after him again and again relentlessly until they get the verdict they want with apparently no one held to account for their screw ups. You can see where the persecution angle comes from.

It’s now a crime the establishment will stop. Pastry cutter inspections at dawn.

Scary shit.

Jesus wept, neither of renshaw nor pastry cutter boy were jailed just holding far right views.

Renshaw was a nonce and was planning to murder an MP.
Pastry cutter boy was jailed for being a member of a banned or organization. And had in his possession bomb making instructions. In fact the judge said the group was well planned and well organized and pastry cutter boy was a dangerous individual.

I've already shown you a bloke who got 7yrs for sharing isis video so the door swings both ways

Has he cited the lack of notices regarding reporting restrictions on his defence? I'm interested to see the incorrect guidance also.

The 'zero effect' is a red herring, or are you suggesting that people who plan to commit crimes but are caught before putting it into action should be released, because it hasn't had an effect?

Apparently it wasnt just breaching reporting restrictions has found in contempt for.

Quote:
Today Dame Victoria Sharp, President of the Queen’s Bench Division said: ‘The respondent’s conduct amounted to a serious interference with the administration of justice.’ She stated that Robinson committed contempt of court in three ways, the first of which was by breaching the reporting restriction put in place for the trial.

Her second point was that his Facebook Live was likely to impede justice, while he also aggressively confronted the defendants, she said.

In terms of the reporting restriction apparently he was told go to the court office to check for reporting restrictions but TR decided not to bother

Quote:
Andrew Caldecott QC, for the Attorney General, told the Old Bailey that a security officer had suggested Robinson check for reporting restrictions at the court office.

The barrister said the ‘critical question’ was why Robinson ‘declined the invitation to take this obvious step which would have put the matter beyond doubt’. He added: ‘We say the answer clearly is that he made a reckless assumption as to what he might be able to do because it suited him to do so, and the reason it suited him to do so was that his whole objective was to get the defendants’ faces out there.’

Trigger warning!!!

A TRAFFIC warden grinned as he slapped a ticket on Tommy Robinson's "battle bus" today and told the ex-EDL boss's supporters: "I love my job sometimes".

Renshaw bought a sword and revised his intended victim's itinerary, thats not thought that is action.

Should these have been jailed, for life with 13 year minimum tarif in this case? no harm no foul by your logic.
