Well i've only ever ridden one once, but there nice looking machines with a comfy riding position but not very fast, wen i was looking for a 50cc i read a few reviews and they all say pretty much the same thing, there slow machines and when de-restricted, there nothing but trouble, oil leaks are one of the major problems with them as i remember, id go for the 125cc DNA aa you wont really want to de-restrict them, if you dont want a ped but want something that looks like a bike id go for a motor cross bike,
btw how old are you ? i'm guessing if your looking for a 50cc your turning 16??

Sorry to disappoint you, but they're not bikes, they're scooters which have had a vague effort made to make them look like bikes (sadly failed quite badly). Fast compared to other 50cc, they're restricted to 30mph like all the others, de-restricted they're probably slower than the others.
I'd suggest get a cheap unfaired geared 50cc so that when you get a 125cc you're already used to gears, and unfaired so it doesn't get too damaged when dropped.
Lorry Driver, the reason for it asking for you to have a certain post length because you post nothing but crap, and the more crap you continue to post the worse your karma is going to get so stop digging the hole and put the spade down!!! |

DNA 50's have good engines but are fairly heavy bikes so are not as quick as the other bikes with the same piaggio engine. I have seen people mod them up to look quite nice, but I'm still not that keen on scooters that pretend to be bikes.

I've got 2 "Ruff Ryder" style kids in the lower 6th in my College with these bikes. They saw my XR and were quite bemused saying that "they can have me!" I laughed at them and said, "mate, ride a PROPER BIKE PROPERLY and not a crap bike dangerously". Met up with these 2 short ruff ryders after an arduous last lesson (physics) and decided to have a ride down Harrow on the Hill with them, they couldn't even keep up with me . Moral is, if you want a piaggio engined bike, get an NRG, Typhoon or at the most, a runner; NOT a DNA as they're nearly as heavy as my XR. Too much of the wrong type of people ride DNA's my way and by meeting a person with one of them, they're always asking for a race (previous countless experience that is) ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

Mr James, do you know where the S-bends are near Harrow School going past that post office (i.e. that bloody Mr's Dave's shop who kicked me out for wearing a helmet!... i was taking it off to buy some fags whilst on a lunch break ). That's where i had the nice "proposition". It was a "who could take the fastest (read also safest) line through the bends. But knowing the DNA's they could barely top 30! ... Evidently, how comes you're quite accustomed to St Dom's? Former pupil yourself?
Mind you, you might have met me whilst on my NRG... i'm not like most pedbois in Harrow, I have to courtesy to NOD to fellow bikers. BTW, what bike do you ride now? I keep getting nods off some guy on a cruiser as i'm pulling into St Dom's, and some guy in my college (admin) rides a Hayabusa... anyway this is a/bit/ off topic.
End story is... depending on where you're from, DNA's are usually ridden badly from my experience and other scooter riders tend to dismiss them, i knew a few mechanics at Rex Judd's who rode tricked out Runners and they all told me to stay away from EVERY version of the DNA (these were full on ped bois! ) Just a thought for you... an NRG is just AS good! ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

I think that DNA's look quite funny for a boot!! (bike come scoot?! lol). Look's like somebody at the biolab facility took the wrong phial when designing the genetics of this bike! . Seriously, I ride a gilera runner, and was tempted to buy one of these (the 125) a few years ago when i hit 17, but didn't really bother. They are not the rage everybody claims they are and just impractical. I can't even fit 2 shopping bags in the tank!... where's the space to hang your shopping on this bike ? Think about it.. |

My sister went to St Doms, I've lived in Harrow for about 14 years, used to go up on the hill as a kid and swig booze and fumble with girls bras - the usual shit.
I'm still on my trusty Areox 100, until next tuesday, when with any luck I'll be the proud owner of a brand new license and a brand new Fazer 600.
That said, my aerox makes all these little 50cc racers look silly even though I dont actually try and race them, God knows what happens when they try and race people on proper bikes.
Most people riding DNAs seem to be total gimps, I've seen quite a few out and about in Harrow, the only one that wasnt riding like a knobber was the young lady I followed through south harrow this afternoon. Blond hair, nice arse, reasonable rider - should be more like her around here!
The bikes look ok, but all the ones I have seen are the pants 50s - you'd be faster on a skateboard. |

The Junction? You've probably seen me in there at some point then, although I've not been much in the last month or two, nothing to do at work since the riot, so been taking advantage and drinking in London in the afternoons instead!
Ahhh the junction, full of teeny boppers, young fillies, and wanna be gangstaz. The trick to not being thrown out is to be as big, or bigger, than the bouncers, about 5 years older than anyone else in the pub, and actually be able to drink legally! Got on well with the door staff since I used to work in the courts, and pop in for a pint or two after work with my cuffs and all the gear on under my jumper They probably think I'm undercover 5-0 or something, bless.
A good place for a few cheap drinks though, maybe you can get me a yellow card so I dont keep having to pay through the nose - after all, my taxes are putting you through college!
Good to know the proud hill drinking/fumbling traditions continue, might pop up there and see if any mini RudeBois try to mug me, post-pub entertainment is always welcome!
I was at Hatch End, then Northwood. My sister has just finished her degree, so well before your time I guess. Salvo ehhh? Hatch end used to fight them, although I was such a boffin at the time I never got involved, I had a side parting for God's sake! |
