From a relatively new MotoGP watching perspective ... it's difficult to work out how he does what he does .... without crashing ...even when he is and in fact has crashed ... he's still trying not to crash.

What's interesting ( for me ) is that Stoner, Rossi and indeed Marquez are all very talented dirt bike riders. That they can ride a 200+bhp superbike like most of us of us couldn't even ride a 125cc crosser still fascinates me.

And whilst i am no Rossi fan ( he did his fair share of dirty racing ) the fact he's still competitive at 39 is as much of a fascination as the skills Marquez has.

It makes it interesting to watch - unlike F1 which is as dull as proverbial ditchwater.

^^^ 250+bhp.

There were over 170 overtakes during that race. Which is impressive. Smile

Most important sporting news of the week I'd say Laughing

Sad, a bit, he Rossi and Lorenzo were three of the staples for such a long time.

FP2 times.

note; MM was pretty much doing race simulation and #99 went for speed.
Pedrosa has retired already judging by his times.

Clear lead atm.

What's with Maverick. Can he really not ride that Yamaha on more than half a tank. How long before they start him with half a tank and refuel him mid-race?

Loved the Marquez celebration with the crowd at the end.

I really didn't want to like Marquez, for no quantifiable or justifiable reason, but the more I watch him the more I like him.

Couldn't see me saying this a few years back, but, I'd be pretty ecstatic if Lorenzo managed to win the championship.

Whole lot of 'honesty' in the paddock recently. Vin saying how frustrated he is with Yamaha, Vale backing him up, then the bizarre moment when Yamaha hold a press briefing to allow race boss Tsuji to apologise for poor performance.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DkU4DR7XgAA3lyt.jpg

Scott Redding 'You can't shine shit'. So looks like he won't be in the paddock saying things like...err the truth.

Re Lorenzo. After Le Mans he was 14th in the championship....look at him now in 3rd.
Marquez on Lorenzo “Luckily Jorge won’t have the same tools next year”.

Surfing during Moto2 Race.

Loz fast at the end of the race bodes well.

Scott in reflective mood.

Quote:
I am here today to say that i owe a huge apology to the aprilia racing team and company.

What i said Sunday afternoon post race interview was not acceptable by a long way, i was thinking with a-lot of emotion from my heart.

But i spoke out with rage which a young person of 25 can do very easily. my self of age 25 should be a role model, much more mature and composed.

The team and company of aprilia Racing are doing the best they can to improve our motogp machine, we have some good items to test this week and i still believe this bike can be competitive.

As a team you work, live, learn all together so from the bottom of my heart i deeply say a big sorry for my outrageous words That was said.I will learn from this.'

Pretty embarrassing that it needed to happen, and a real shame for Rabat too.

You'd think in a country as health and safety conscious as ours that at some point they'd have considered and tested the surfaces ability to deal with rain, it's hardly an unforseeable circumstance!

Heading up by car because of the weather. £5m on resurfacing, over £100 a ticket and they're struggling to run a race in British weather. There was only one heavy downpour that caused all that, I think a lot of people's time and money are going to be wasted today.

Ridiculous state of affairs. as said above, it's not as if heavy rain is uncommon there.

Why they don't have Marshall operated traffic light warning type signals on the long really fast straights is beyond me. Or even weight sensors in the surface at the flat points on the circuit - would have generated a warning that there was excess standing water.

That incident was completely avoidable.

Not sure he'd have done the same for Redding Laughing

Well I've sacked-off the idea that racing is happening today after hearing the safety car driver said it's tricky even with 4 wheels...I'm off to play some Bass.

[edit] Dorna have confirmed to MCN that we race today or we do not race at all. There will be NO Monday race

Has BT Sport said they will cover the race if it goes ahead at 4pm?

Nothing on twitter and BT Sport is showing a race from yesterday.
