this is my first big bike and the rubber came new with the bike.
my front looks OK i think.

but my rear is getting a bit of a flat ring...

some of my uncertainty is that when new the rear didn't have a vast amount of tread pattern to start off with.
they are Maxxis Super Diamond's and here is a picture of them on the website.

PR3 are sport touring tyres. I use them for commuting.

I have good experience with Metzeler Roadtec tyres, more affordable and more durable. Might not be as grippy, but I never felt like I would need more grip than I had.

There are plenty of reputable motorcycle tyre manufacturers and you do not need ''sport/racing'' sticker on the tyres to ride safely on the open road.

Also, unless you test several types and brands of tyres one by one, you won't be able to tell the difference, because going from a bald tyre to a brand new one is always a big change in riding comfort and confidence. Especially when changing the front tyre.

Looking at the rear tyre, I would replace it but only because it is just a few miles before you see the ''wires'' inside, not because it being squared.

PR4s? I recently paid £180 from Tyreleader.co.uk, plus £30 to my local mechanic to fit them (on the bike). They are fab.

i rate the Avon 3d-xm's if all you're doing is riding down the motorway. Mine last set had over 17k miles and looked in much better condition than yours do.. i don't ride slowly either so could have probably got a few more out of them

My were fitted to my thundercat for £180 iirc but then the tire guy gets a ridiculous price.

Regardless of which Bridgestone you're going for ask the garage how much to fit?

Ring around other garages.

If you have use of a car you could take the loose wheels and the tyres you maybe sourced at a better price?

The week before Easter is not a good time to seem desperate.
A lot of bikes are not on the road until 1st April.
I'd change them both too, but to but no harm doing a few miles on those until into next month. Just go careful if it's wet.

The region in which you reside might help people give you suggestions as I highly doubt you're the first person to need tyres replacing in such location.

Dunlop Sportmax Qualifiers came on my bike and were ok but then, at the same time, we do have to consider that my riding ability and comfortableness with the bike with the bike, as my first biggun, wasn't then what it is now.

I went with PR3's and I give up wanting to ride before they do.

See if Colwins will do your tyres, if they do PR3 or PR4, 3 should be cheaper and will suit motorway riding fine. Colwins is at the crossroads near KFC/Homebase just behind Morrisons if you haven't found it yet.

i have popped into Colwins a couple of times and they seem like a nice enough place.
there is also a garage on the junction of the main road that has a showroom of used bikes, they are the ones i spoke to about new boots.
