Hi everyone! I did a trip to Romania last year, in case you're interested. It's a destination well worth your attention and you shouldn't miss out on it. Nature, wilderness, history, horses and carriages...you name it. It's like riding inside Discovery Channel.

Unless things have changed drastically in the last few years, most Romanian roads are just diabolical. The surfaces are potholed and uneven. A couple of hundred miles on a road bike is seriously hard work and that's before the incompetence of the road users is considered.
When I was there in 2012, the Transfagarasan road while a masterpiece of engineering was in a terrible state of repair and a huge disappointment.
Whatever endearing qualities Romania may have, roads are not one of them.
