Del and workshop...
Some decent knowledge but i un-subbed the pair of them last year.

Making petty vids about each other like a right pair of fucking tarts.
What a pair of fucking ballet dancers.

Two blokes who have forgot what the fuck built their channels in the first place.

As for evans, its just propylene or ethylene glycol.

Its flammable slippery as fuck and does not transmit heat well.
It is good for keeping out corrosion, but shit as a coolant.

As its also flammable, meaning if your bike sprung a coolant leak its entirely possible the whole machine could light up. An obvious reason would be a holed radiator dripping on to the headers.
Personally i just use distilled tapwater dirt cheap and works
Just dont be a lazy twat and flush the system out yearly..

You do not need to use distilled water.
It probably eats the surface of the metal it is protecting as the water will have practically zero minerals in it.

I think people confuse cooling systems with lead acid batteries. Batteries do not like tap water. Smile

A decent quality Glycol antifreeze at a 50% 50:50 mixed with clean water (tap water or bottled out of ASDA etc.) is all you need.
Just ensure the antifreeze has inhibitor added. it should have minimum 2% inhibitor. Anti-freeze that has to be mixed should have 4% inhibitor then a 50:50 mix will provide 2% inhibitor and freeze protection down to -40° Centipede.
Pre-Mixed antifreeze should have 2% inhibitor.

Flush your system with clean water whenever you change the anti-freeze to remove unwanted compounds then fill with fresh AF.

I just use it as i have the stuff to make it myself, the logic being there is less shit in it.
Its then mixed with a concentrated antifreeze with anti fungal and corrosion inhibitor to what ever dilution the bottle says.
Been doing it this way since i was a kid same as my grandfather taught me near as i know my family have been doing the same thing for near 50 years.Never had a problem so far Thumbs Up.

Will have a look into what you said about the possible mineral issue tho.

I like Delboy's Garage and I've learned a lot.
The Workshop guy just seems to bitch a lot so I switch off. He failed to give his new, freshly-filled battery a top-up charge. Noob! Wink

Pure water is not more corrosive than mineralised (hard) water. It is used to avoid "kettle fur." I also use it in the steam iron for this reason.

Ethylene glycol isn't particularly flammable.

Water is a better coolant but adding ethylene glycol lowers the freezing point and raises the boiling point.

Watched a few Delboy vids and generally he comes out with the odd bit of useful info but, to balance out any positives, he does talk some bollocks also. (Has anyone ever been on one of his buses that he drives?)
Whereas Workshop bloke does talk some sense but doesn't really put it across as well as he could. What is his background/qualifications?
But yes bitching about each other is a bit childish and Workshop guy seems to revel in it.
As with most of YouTube instructional/education vids I take what I can from them which can be no bad thing.

Tell that to all the people who have had cars go up, hot engine in a hot engine bay and it lights easy enough to be an issue.
The flash point in open air is only around 130c and the cooling system does not tend to be as robust / leak free as the fuel system.

Imo 100% coolants are just a bad idea, without at least 30% water content you dont have any protection against ignition.
