Released next month, looks interesting, like all Star Wars films I'll see it at the cinema as they deserved to be seen on a ginormous screen.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPEYpryMp2s

I wonder if Chewy makes it?

"Alden Ehrenreich"?

No.

That's the last we'll ever hear of him.

Just no.

Ok but Lazenby did only one Bond film and its still a great movie despite him being a relative unknown, give him a chance to have a fair innings as Solo; he looks the part.

This could be the start of an exiting trend by Disney, a Star Wars film every 6 months. Think of the possibilities, Jar Jar ‘it’s a me’ movie, Id pay to watch that!

I'd pay to not watch that.

Hmmmm.

If anybody's back-story interests me, its Han Solo and Chewy.

Even with a distinct lack of Harrison Ford (who has always been A Person of Interest to me since he first showed up in American Graffiti), the Han Solo character is "my kind of guy", laconic, self-sufficient, adventurous, and gung-ho - very much appeals to me much more than any of the others. So yeah, I'd prolly watch it.

But in the way of sequels, I'd not expect much more from it than general entertainment and a bit of history.

By most accounts, what we saw onscreen was Ford himself though, not the writing or directing. Ford is the character. What we saw in that trailer... urgh.

That's true enough.
Indiana Jones is just Han Solo in a different era, really.

What we saw in that trailer is some Made For TV Drama/Porn Star trying to play an Icon/Interstellar Hero.

It looks as Soapy as fcuk.

And the 1/2 second clip editing is soooo ham too.

Either way, it will do well as it's a Star Wars story. This will be the norm now, it's daft of Disney not to give fans what they want; a real Star Wars releasing around Christmas time and a spin off 6 months later.

Cash cow milking all the way.

Jar Jar
Chewbacca
Greedo
Jabba
Bobba Fett

All these are prime for a one off.

I'm a massive Star Wars nerd, this is the first film I haven't been excited by. I'm hoping my low expectations will be surprised.

No. Can't imagine the character not being Ford. I will sit there and pick holes in it because of that.

He probably would be in Glasgow, it’s the closest thing the UK has to Mos Eisley.

Sadly, we've gone soft. The wretched hive of scum and diversity is within the M25 now. Crying or Very sad

Han solo guy looks like a young Richard Jordan but without the acting skills (Duncan Idaho from Dune, or one of the sandmen from Logans Run).

Donald Glover though, freaking awesome! He's the daddy. Will be worth watching for Lando Calrissian.

After the pair of damp skidmarked, shitfilled diversity pants that were Episode 8. I'm off the star wars boil for the
first time in my life and just cringe at the thought of how much this movie will suck balls. I watched EP8 on blueray
a few days ago after forgetting to cancel my pre-order, watched the first 30 mins or so then found myself mooching around
the house doing other stuff while it was on despite it being only the second time I've seen it. I'm sorry but Disney, you
pack of box ticking cunts, that is not a sign of a good movie. How Disney can take something that played such a huge and
formative part of my childhood and ruin it to such an extent that I can't sit through a whole film without going and emptying
the dishwasher is indicative of a complete FAIL to keep the story going in a manner where it's the story that matters and not the
rainbow coloured cast and the 'message' that's rammed down our throats everywhere we look these days.
You'll note all the bad guys are white men btw, except of course the black, permanently out of breath stormtrooper
that sacked the new order off to be in Club Benetton. This multi culti disney mantra has overtaken the story, and it's
a bloody shame.

You're all going to watch it though, all of you. Some in the cinema, some from a download that has been filmed by someone with the precision of Michalel J Fox on a battered old Windows phone. Some will wait and buy the Blu Ray as it's only a few quid extra, you will however watch it because it's Star Wars.
