My boots have worn right down in little over a year - alpine stars SMX6 do not have much tread. They are also not much grippy** and will need repairing. A 200 quid pair of boots should last a lot longer!

I have some worn, grippy PR4 tires that would be ideal rubber for the transplant. Question is how to attach? I am thinking a flexible PU glue would be best?

** niether are my £120 running shoes. Sightest damp and they slide around on pavement. Have a worn pair I intend to test with.

Shoe glue, I wouldn't expect too much though.

A few useful suggestions. I've used Shoe Goo in the past and not been all that impressed.

No. The question is "what sort of dippy twat even thinks about gluing cut-up tires to a pair of shagged motorbike boots?".........just sayin'. Shocked

I agree with OP that that there should be a way to repair these effectively.. That's a lot of boot to boot just because of worn soles.

I think the tyre idea however is somewhat optimistic. Perhaps try and find a local cobbler (i.e. not Timpsons) who can graft on a commando sole - this way you might 'shoe-horn' another year out them.

I'll occaisionally cut up an old tyre for vibration mounts, 'feet' etc
and even once tried to make flip flops out of one for fun.
Wouldn't bother again.
Getting a consistent thickness of say boot sole size isn't easy.
the curvature means you have to hack away at the inner side to try and get them flat.
They were bloody heavy too

As above, I'd ask around a few boot repair shops

They can and they do.
It sounds like you're the problem rather than the boot.
When walking, do you shuffle along the pavement without lifting your feet, like some decrepit 90 year old? Or do you slide your feet along the road when riding slowly, like a learner would? I'm guessing a combination of both.

No. New smx6 boots have about 1mm of tread. I knew whe I purchased them that this would be the failure mode. They have done a lot of walking. Boots are otherwise perfect condition.

Does not have to be tire rubber if there is a better off the shelf sole?
I have bits of PR4 used as antivibration/shims for a few tool cabinets and the lathe bench so I know how easy it is to cut off.
