They're cheap, just wondered if anyone has experience of them and are able to say if they're cheap for a reason.

They also let bigger shit into the engine so you may increase wear.

Dust and stuff when burned turns to carbon.

Carbon is abrasive.

No problems here and due to change the oil again, got one ready to go.
Heard of people having problems with the 17m nut rounding off the K&N.

Haven't used their air filters but no issues with their oil filters. They are an OEM supplier for a lot of bikes allegedly.

Are you sure you're not thinking of High flow as in K&N style filters rather than the HiFlo brand which are the same sort of fibre filters as the OEM ones?

I put one in the CB250 ages ago, not as well/nicely made as the OE filter but air tight and the paper bit seemed very similar. Fitted fine, nothing exploded, would recommend Thumbs Up

Hi-flo filters are fine.OEM fitted in many cases.

HIGH FLOW filters, depends a lot on needs and useage.

I tend to stick to paper / fiber type airfilters as i live on the coast and need as much filtration as possible. Foooking sand really does get everywhere, its engine cancer.

One of my mates ran K&N slipon filters on his bandit and not only did it run like shit (because CV carbs need the vacuum pressure in the air box to function correctly without a lot of messing about)

But it massively increased valve wear.

If you clean and oil them regularly K&N airbox ones can be decent but it depends a lot on the bike.
But their oil filters are absolute dogshit. They just dont filter the oil properly.

I have been using Hi-Flo air and oil filters for a while now. When I rebuilt the FJ1200 the other year I looked to replace the installed air filter as it looked dirty

https://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w384/Rhencullen5/FJ1200/20160503_222804_zps9tgfswop.jpg~original

But it was not until I put both the new and the installed filter up to a bright light that I found just how blocked the installed one was Shocked

Quick tip. When replacing filters make a note of the mileage and the date that it was installed.I use a permanent marker to put this detail onto filters Thumbs Up
