|

For downloading youtube videos, I've used below ones till now.
clip converter
--can't download video which contains musics(often)
video downloadhelper(fire fox add-on)
--need to install some soft and sometimes not working
4k video downloader
--need to install soft which requires a lot.
Regarding downloading, 4k video downloader seems best for me, but I wonder if this soft is doing something in my pc.
My pc became weird and I reinstalled win 7 last month.
If possible I want to avoid install softs, and prefer web base ones(like clip converter), but is there any web base ones which can download 1080p or over?
Or is "4k video downloader" safe soft to install?
Do you have any suggestions? ____________________ 2020 Touring Serow 250

Do you have a device running linux? I know you say you don't want a software solution but this one is very good. It is also very compact in terms of resource useage.
youtube-dl is lightning quick and effective and runs directly off the terminal.
Once it's installed you just open a terminal session and type youtube-dl followed by the share link for the video you want. It will automatically download the highest quality version version of the video, without the adverts and save it in your home folder. There are other options for selecting different versions and destinations but the reality is it works like that without using any of them.
It looks like there is also a windows version. I'll leave you to research how to do that (there are several youtube how to videos) because it doesn't look entirely straightforward on windows as there is no graphical front end. (you can just install it on linux using the synaptic package manager).

Thanks stinkwheel.
(I don't have device running linux, so I downloaded windows version :
Windows exe and Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86).
I could download youtube video using cmd window and youtube-dl.exe by watching youtube tutorial video.
It automatically download highest quality one from available format.
This soft looks very compact and simple. (Doesn't do weird move in my pc).
(Youtube may be hiding 1080p version by some trick) ____________________ 2020 Touring Serow 250

Thanks. That explains why most of free ones are till 720p only now.
I heard 1080p video and sound are separately saved by YT now.

You might try https://epicbrowser.com which has an inbuilt downloader for video or just the audio.
It's a modified version of chrome which also has VPN built in. |
