A few years ago when I first got my bike, this worked for me. It is capable of lifting the complete bike (mind you, it is only a 250, same weight as the Honda CM125C....)

i have looked into it and made a start on one using a bike jack cut in half and then extended with a 20mm ply sheet and then 3mm sheet steel on top of that

https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-cml5-hydraulic-motorcycle-and-atv-lift/?da=1&TC=GS-020110194&gclid=CjwKCAjw2dvWBRBvEiwADllhn-c6pC3cfbWmBeS3fp5D_yiACaJOl3wSejUM2EVga0R6CIDb8x55xxoClhAQAvD_BwE

In theory it was going to be great but it quickly became apparant that it would half be about a foot or so higher than the floor.. not really worth the hassle imo. I looked at extending it higher but then stability would have been more of an issue.

If you're handy with your hands.. building a high wooden table would be the next best thing aside from buying a proper ramp

There's a hospital bed DIY version on ebay at the moment going for 19 quid currently.

Personally I'd be happy to spend the cost of a decent lid on a purpose made ramp rather than have my lovely
shiny bike wobbling around on some kind of home made bodge job, I'm looking at turntable solutions as I'm building my
all new Grr-cave this year and it must have the means to easily turn a bike around on the spot. Mainly because
it will be built on the bit of my back yard I turn my bike around on now. Laughing Similar thing, I could build some kind of dodgy
thing on castors myself which would do the job at a pinch. But balls to that I want a turntable, recessed to floor level
preferably and with a brake. My other half has just had 20ks worth of pole studio or glittery she-cave. Now it's my turn
to blow through some funds.

By the time you buy the necessary materials you might not be far off the cost of getting a second hand lift.

Eggzakery.

Buy a bike-lift.

New or used.

EBay.

You will never regret it.

Hanging a bike off a Strap-it-ontome is only good for one ir two jobs. A bike-lift like they use in bike workshops is how to go.

If not in use it can be propped against the wall/side of shed.
(Put a fixture on wall to secure it in place.)

Or I could dig a hole to stand in. Laughing

Given the shed is only 6ftX5ft my feeling was with a bit of re-enforceing the frame it would be good and rigid. Then use a winch to lift then a couple of slot in beams to put in at the right height then lower the bike onto them rather than have the bike swinging about.

I don't have the space for a full size table lift, so I waited and waited until an easyrizer came up on ebay for half the new cost. It does the job for maintenance and I can pull it out of the garage and lift the bike up when I wash it (admittedly only twice a year).

I have mounted it onto a bigger base frame with caster wheels which means I can push the bike around while it's in the air to work on one side and then back to get more space on the other etc.

Id like to do that but my garden is too rustic (lumpy ground) putting down some paving is just another plan yet to be an action to effect a goal in order to achieve an outcome. Shocked

Those eazy rizers look that way to me. Then again most people see our bikes in the same way.

Yeah, I was a bit apprehensive the first time I wound it up in the air, but having used it more than a few times and pulled / pushed it about I think you'd have to go beyond full double spacktard to have a problem with it falling over. They can be a faff when securing the bike though.
