My forks are leaking I've been advised to sort it out. What is my best option is it a rebuild or buy new/used. I can't seem to find any decent ones to buy, can anyone advise please? Thanks.

First, why are they leaking? Are the stanchions in good condition within the sliding area? if no, replace.

If yes and if there are stone deflectors fitted, they should last forever. This will mean they are leaking because of dirt, or rust.

Pop the dust seal up, is the spring in bad condition or rusty, chances are the same for the seal. Strip them and replace with new bushes.

If the dust seal spring is good, use a sealmate tool or milk bottle to clean the seal. Put plenty of grease on the dust seal spring and fill the area above oil seal. Pump the forks 20 times and it will be good. This can be done in place, but you will want to remove the forks and replace the fluid while your doing it.

Rechroming can be cheaper than replacing with new forks. Philpot's in Luton did mine.

Interesting. I'm wary of using too much oil or grease on anything because it can trap dirt and make the situation worse.
