Hi, my nsme is David, I am from Farnham in Surrey and at 47 yrs young I have just ordered myself a Honda CB125F from my local dealer. Not sure if I'll eventually want something bigger but will just try to enjoy riding 1st.

Any way, hello all. Smile

You already got a licence or do you need to do your CBT?

Your first hurdle will be getting over the wall of sperg that's coming from Teflon-Mike.

Don't sweat the CBT, but be aware that it's not a 1 day course. It's as long as you take to reach a minimum (and highly subjective) standard. You may find that you don't take to it as quickly as a fearless yoof made of rubber and magic, or the folk doing their 5th CBT renewal on a twist-and-go.

So cost up extra days and don't be too self critical if you find yourself going back for another bite at it. If you do, it'll be far smoother on the 2nd go. Biking does quickly get easier and more fun, but you're not going to learn it all from wobbling around for a few hours being shouted at by a Deputy Assistant Backup Instructor.

Oh, if you have or can borrow a pushbike, I'd get out on that just to get you used to the idea of balance, road positioning, and being invisible.

He's 47 so maybe not.
Hopefully there'll be a few years of road experience with op so he'll be able to concentrate on the bike more than the road.
