I recently passed my CBT, and just bought a Peugeot Prost 100cc off of my Dad's-neighbors-Step Son.
It has a few nasty gouges on the faring where he took a tumble, and I was hoping to get a spray to tidy it up a little. But so far I cannot find a spray!

I have found a fair few garages/dealerships which supply the colour in a paint-on form, but no sprays.

Any help on this would be most welcome.

Onto my next query: The bike wont start! Well, to put it more precisely, it wont start most times. It also stalls once the throttle is released, no matter how gently I let it go. I have changed the spark plug (which, I might add, is a complete nightmare!), and have been told it has has the carburetor cleaned because they previous owner wasn't getting any speed out of it. I sent it into a garage to have it looked at, and they will be getting back to me (hopefully) within the week.

What I would like to know is: Is this an inhenrent problem with the Speedfight/Prost model? Or is it just one of these one-off bad-luck jobbies? Neutral

I think the company url is www.bike-paint.co.uk
They do 1000s of colour matched sprays for bikes, I got paint there for my Ninja and it was an exact match, and not too expensive either Thumbs Up

(OK looking at the site I'm not 100% sure that's the same place.. I'll have a look at the spray cans tomorrow!)

izzi81: Thank you, i'll check that place out in the morning

dodsi: Read your thread already Razz Problem is, I paid £500 for my bike, and unless you are going to sell all the farings for £50, no deal Mr. Green (I am skint now. Had to borrow money to take it in to have it looked at!)

well as you know a whole panel set for £50... you ring peugeot and ask them about a rear cowl alone...

well over £90!

I just got the paint. Looks good.
Pity they forgot to tell me I need a silver undercoat and a laquer finish Confused

I still havent got the bike back from Colin Collins yet. I phoned them on Wednesday, to see how they are getting on with it. They told me they hadnt looked at it yet (been there a week), and that they will "have a look at it tomorrow"

Well, Friday rolled around, no word from them. My Dad decided to give them a ring, see if he could get more info from them. They told him exactly the same thing ("Havent looked at it yet, will do tomorrow). They however did say that they will have to take apart and clean the Carburretor, and it will cost £45 just to do that.
My Dad explained that we had had it cleaned out only the week before, by a mechanic. Their response was "Well, we want to look at it".

Saturday came and went, no word.
Come Tueday, it will have been there for 2 weeks!
If I could start the thing, I would book it into another garage and take it there, but I cant. So I am at the mercy of these fleecing bullshitters (excuse the language, but im pretty peeved).

Any advice on these matters would be most appreciated. Crying or Very sad

Turns out that the air-bung (technical term there!) has gone in the carburretta, and they need to get a new one.
Its going to cost over £150 for that?!?!

Well, no word thursday, despite them saying they would be doing it.

Phoned them about 4pm, they said "We havent got the part yet". Nice of them to tell me that.
We will do it tomorrow

Fridays rolls round. Still no word
Its now 2:45 Saturday, and if I dont hear from them by 4pm, its another phone call.

I think if I ever get a problem with this bike again, i'll take it to a small garage that would be pleased of the custom, not one of these big places that think they can take as long as they want because its not going to make them much money to fix (compared to some of the problems they get in there I mean, as they deal with large bikes mostly).

Please I need to get some advice as to how to handle this. It will have been 3 weeks next tuesday!
