Hi Guys,

I have a Honda CB250RS 1980.

So I had my bike running only a few weeks ago, used the 'kill switch' to turn it off and since then it has not been sparking. I checked the ignition coil and that was reading bad, so I went and bought this product: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321858743849 as a replacement ignition coil but after hooking it all up, still no spark but the readings are good.

I disconnected the kill switch and still no spark. Any advice on what else may be going wrong would be great and how can I fix it.

Thanks

By disconnected, you mean connected something to complete the circuit right?

But does your switch kill on closed or open circuit?

Before you do any more guessing, I'd buy a basic multimeter, have a look on YouTube for how to use it for continuity testing, and test your kill switch wiring.

Regardless of whether it kills on open or closed, if you find the two wires going into the switch, check for continuity between them, you should see the continuity changing when you flip the switch. If the circuit remains either open or closed when you flip the switch on and off, then the problem is there.

If it's not, then you've just levelled up in electronomics and can start checking for continuity (or voltage) along other parts of the circuit.

As far as I understand, the switch will break the circuit and make the circuit, without the switch you break the circuit.

May differ per bike, but I'd just have joined the wires on each side of the killswitch.
