I'm wanting to do a couple of small UK tours later on this year, and am currently in the process of acquiring the necessary camping equipment (compact tent/sleeping bag/cooking equipment) which is the relatively easy part, the tricky bit will be sorting a way of fitting it to the bike (without spending a fortune doing it)
Initial thoughts were some soft panniers (circa £100), a backpack (already have that) and a waterproof roll bag, but, being as my bike (Honda Hornet) has a high level side exhaust, does that rule soft panniers out
I would have initially thought they would just melt straight away, but the exhaust end can doesn't actually get that hot, i can usually stick my hand on it after a run, and i'd estimate it's no hotter than a central heating radiator, but is that due to the air passing by and cooling it, which would be blocked to some extent by the panniers
So, has anyone toured on a Hornet and got any advice, or any other bike with high level side exhaust ____________________ Current Bike: Honda CG125 ES4 // Honda CB600FS Hornet // Triumph Street Triple R |
