Snowies DD125E was early err.. o4 ish reg ISTR. Getting parts was an utter pain, and how I ended up meeting the woman, cos she was stumped by the fact you cant order bits like you can for a ford Escort by make, model year, and 99% of anyone she asked told her she must be mistaken, AJS hadn't made a motorbike for thirty years, and never a 125.... So I can empathise... but I suspect big issue in your problem is you have a rare and esoteric motorcycle, not in the listings without good dealer or even importer support, and are stumped by lack of listings.

IF its the earlier aircooled model though, it is an almost bolt for bolt copy of the Honda CM125 rebel; and a lot of parts from that and other Benly family bikes 'MIGHT' fit...... there are differences though, and ISTR that some of the Benley copy motors are based on the CB125TD~J engine that has 18 timed crank, and 'HiVo' camchain rather than 36o timed crank and plain roller camchain, with necesserily retimed and likely re profiled cam shaft.

Not sure from post exact;y what your issue is.... but the carb should be a PD24 slide carb, OTMH which is common to the Benley family engines; one from a CB125 twin, or a CM or CD will likely fit, and if you check the Honda CB/CM/CD haynes you will find the kjets you need to suit.

some, DD125's might have had a single CV carb, as used on the CB~TD~J and possibly the last CM~Rebels.

If you get a bit clued up on the Honda CD/CM/CB 'Benley' family, of 125's 175, 185, 2oo and 233, motors, there is a fair bit of corss model compatability, especially between carbs... an airfilter snorkle, is more likely a model specific bit.... and you can do a fair bit of part substitution from alternative models new or from breakers.....

But... with an AJS... you are going to struggle trying to buy by make/model/year like a Ford Escort, from anywhere.... and you are likely to end up having to use more than a little make do and mend old fashioned mechanics from what you can lay your hands on, and taking chance it will work....

THIS is the world of 'cheap' chinky bikes, I am afraid..... they are intended for low labour 3rd world markets, where folk will do this as course because they dont have the money, and dont have the parts suppliers, and dont have the catalogues none of the bits are in, and will get creative and injeniouse... or chuck it away as a junker, and buy another.

Begs questions though;

1/ whay are your trying to fix up a DD125... be far easier and more sensible ecconomical to put that time and effort and money into a genuine Honda you can more easily get bits for, that wont make these sort of problems, and stands good chance of being worth a bigger fraction of tyeh cash you sink in it along the way.

2/ why does it have no carb? What else has been removed, or pillaged? and if this is the start of finding this sort of niggle in the deal... how many more are you likely to find before this thing could be presented for an MOT?

3/ Why is there no carb snorkle? As above.. and given functionality... do you really need it? Why not just fit a cheap after market pod filter? They are horrible... but then unlikely to have much adverse impact on a 1o bhp at best DD125E, or its reliabilitt, given thier tendancxy to get sopping wet and stop flowing...... bit of plastic and some ducktape, presents itself as obviouse answer..... and likely less frequent issue than the tappet clerances you probably dont know, and have never been adjusted, and you would be well advised to get propper key and locknut spanner to adju8st, like book says they should be, every 2ooo miles....

That's a Chinese thing, ain't it? Ah, so. You could ask the AJS shop on 01264 365103. You never know. At least they should have heard of it.
