The other half has an HN125-8 and it works all good and nice, apart from when you turn the ignition off, the bike still runs.
So to turn the bike off, you need to use the kill switch. I am not sure if its the wiring as its been cut and pasted, or if its the ignition itself.
Anyone got any ideas on where to start? ____________________ Carbon closet tart! https://www.bikepics.com/members/r6stuk/02r6/

Damned if I can find a wiring diagram now, but I think that's right, and the cut off switch essentially does the same thing.
Aside, the engine will run just fine with the main fuse blown, so that supports the idea that the ignition circuit is always live unless something actively stops it from being so.
Sight unseen I'd guess just a bad soldering job on the ignition barrel, or a corroded wire, but you'll need to go in with a multimeter to find out. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Generic Small Honda ignition, the CDi unit has a wire to 'make' a circuit to earth to kill sparks, rather than switches to 'make' circuit to feed coil and make them.
Handlebar kill switch makes circuit; ignition barel 'off' makes circuit. Side-Stand inhibitor makes a circuit.
I would start looking though in the headlamp. Early genuine Honda ignition barels had a wire from the CDi, black and white OTMH, in the multi-way connector in the headlamp. Later, and most Chinky derviavtives had a seperate wire from the key barel, with a bullet on the end, to a seperate connector, to make it easier to dog in the 'kill' feeds from the side-stand or clutch or kill switch.
If OE switches replaced, you could have a genuine Honda switch, wich isn't connected to external kill wire; or you could have generic chinky barel with external kill wire not connected to the honda multi-way.... OR you could just have the kill wires from the barel and loom hanging loose where some-one has pushed in the lens after messing with the headlamp bulb!
WHICH, as handlebar kill you say still works, is probably the most likely. ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

There is a lot of bodging inside. the prev owner has bypasssed the side stand cutoff. and there is a green and black/white wire cut and not doing anything in the multi connector from ignition. ____________________ Carbon closet tart! https://www.bikepics.com/members/r6stuk/02r6/

The ignition switch should have a 6 way connector.
The green and black/white wires are the ones that get shorted to stop the sparks/motor
From what I see they use Honda colour conventions ( mostly)
and it is yer typical AC CDI setup
BTW
No I aint psychic, I just looked here and inferred it from images
single cylinder, 125, OHV, carbed, AC CDI, Honda colours etc
