So being a complete noob i went into a bike shop today and trusted the guy that was giving me a hand. Once i got home i suddenly remembered the part of my CBT when the instructor was explaining helmets.

I purchased a: Shark D-Skwal Blank Matt

On the helmet it clearly shows the ACU gold sticker but nothing else. The chin strap has a label showing E11 but i seem to recall reading that just that just means its been tested against the UK's standards.

Is the helmet road legal, any help?

If you bought it from a shop in the UK, why would you think it's not road legal?

Yes.

30 seconds googling and clicking found this in exactly the place you'd expect it to be.

Take a look here, they use a Shark helmet as an example:
https://inspire.getgeared.co.uk/what-ece-2205-helmets-stickers-mean/

The badge/sticker doesn't have to say ECE 22.05 on it.

E11 means it's been approved by the UK, but also that it's then legal in other European countries+

This is also an opportunity to realise that a lot of bollocks is taught by some CBT instructors.

If the label on the strap starts with 05 it's legal. No requirement for 2205 sticker on back.

See section 5.1, and Annex 2 A for what should be marked on the helmet.

Also: https://sharp.dft.gov.uk/helmets/shark-d-skwal/

Independently tested and given 4 thumbs up.
