Ratings don't mean much. It's a team made up of people with their own skills and abilities and how they all interact together. You can't easily sum that up in a ranking.

But surely you know when you are watching sports men and women who are good at what they do? Teams like Brazil and Germany aren't highly rated because they have more luck than others?

The teams are all really good though.

P = M x I x T x C

Did you win the match
How important was the match
How strong was the opposition
Which confederation does the opposition play in.

Germany and Brazil were highly rated. Laughing

So far, the Tunisia match was a bit boring. The Panama match was lulz.

The most interesting thing about the Belgium match is that we could end up playing them again.

Colombia Match was more lulz and quite a lot of cards.

The Sweden match was interesting because of our goalie, everything else was a bit boring.

It's a shame that we won't be fiting the Russians in the semis because was with the current political Novichok climate could be a good fite. Then after the match there would be Engerlund drunks vs the Russian Ultras which could also be a good fite. Laughing

Biggest disappointment of the whole tournament, only reason for being in it really.
And if our drunks beat their ultras, Eeeen-geeeerrr-land!
And if their ultras beat our drunks, well, one less lot of undesirables in our country. Win-win!

Putins obviously put the hard word on the Russian Ultras to be good or there would be a lot more trouble than there has been (practically none).

Anyway, it doesn't matter who we play if we win as that's all history will remember.

England fans would get totally destroyed by the Ultras. Most of England's real hooligans are banned from attending the match and will have had their passports taken away. Professional thugs vs sports fans and families.

I'm not sure I agree with that. Of course luck will play its part, but surely at the top level, you shouldn't have to rely on it? I mean, I'm no expert, but I don't think we beat Sweden because of luck. I think England played well, created their own chances through work and skill. After all, if sport was all about luck, why train hard?

I think you've misunderstood me.

The draw is always going to come down to luck - the teams you play in the group stages are picked out of a hat and the knockout stage opponents are predetermined to the extent of the way those groups line up. For example, England couldn't have faced Brazil and Argentina in the same tournament but could have done if they'd have been drawn on opposing sides.

You can only beat what's in front of you.

You have to play well to beat whoever is in front of you, unless they play equally badly, or worse.

You can play well and still lose because you get a bit unlucky.

A Scotch Nationalist colleague today informed me that he would be cheering you chaps on.

Because if you win, you will be so utterly insufferable that we'll demand another ENGLISH OOT referendum. Razz

I told you to stop complaining about weather and football people.

I blame BCF!

Its ComingHome - England will win 2018 football World Cup! Laughing

BRITAIN is now officially a banana republic with constant sunshine, collapsing government and a very good football team.

This is why Val lives here. Banana Republic conditions suit him so well.

And if you blame BCF Val, why have you posted this drivel on the Fazer forum too? As far as I'm aware, there's only one member on there who really likes to talk politics - generally, they avoid it.
