An old bike

Soon I will need a new bike and Im unsure what to do with the cbr6. It has numerous minor issues, tatty and high mileage that I doubt I will get much in a private sale, but she has been very reliable and will do high speed, long distance commutes and twisties without issue. Private is probably the best option?

Im not intending to use a main dealer so px is not an option. Anyone used webuyanybike or similar?

It's always good to have a reliable back up be vehicle.

Agree. Stick it in a corner, lay it up and chuck a dust sheet over it.

Sometimes it's just not worth selling things.

Another for "Keep it." I laid up my slightly tatty ZX6R at 60k miles when I bought an R1 but later got a garage and was able to make the Kawasaki a recreational and educational project. In doing so I spent more than I'd ever get back on it but I loved the experience and I'm enjoying the bike all over again.

I wont have space or time for a third bike. the 250rr is my long term neglected project..

If I keep I will be buying forks, exhaust, brake discs and possibly a fairing kit, spare wheels..

Also try selling it on here.
Even if it looks tatty people will buy if you try webuyanybike they will prob just offer you £50.

Companies like webuyanybike will auction off your bike so condition for them is much more important then if it runs or not.

Maybe.

I had a old R1150GS thing was a tank but ugly as hell.
I traded it in for a CBR600RR was great and shiny but completely impractical for commuting on as it was uncomfortable and was just begging to be revved all the time.
I couldn't switch back to the 1150GS as I part exchanged it. So shiny and new isn't always best.

Also I just traded in my BMW 325i for a Honda CB500 so if anything goes wrong with it I wont have a means of transport.

I'm not saying your wrong just that I've learnt my lesson and will keep hold of the cb500 but that's mainly because its not worth much.

Guess my definition of old is anyone who went to school without a mobile phone or anyone who didn't have a to take a GCSE in computing as the school didn't have a computer.

Although I realise that definition doesn't apply to people who live up north or in most of wales. -
