When the bike got nicked, they have dumped it on it's left and it's lay on the gear linkage lever.

I've sorted everything except the rear ball joint. I've ordered another, but it there a temporary way to stop it falling off until it arrives? It's lateral movement I want to prevent, the socket literally falls off the ball. I can't find a clip to retain it anywhere.

Made up a bracket to stop it moving laterally, and cable tie+bolt to hold bracket.
