I'm flogging a bike which has Datatag on it, registered in my name. If the next owner doesn't bother to pay the necessary £15 to re-register it in his name (and I doubt he will), is there any potential come-back on me in the future, ie, after the bike is re-registered with DVLA?

I can't think of anything, but wondered if I was missing something obvious. There doesn't seem to be any obvious way of simply 'de-registering' on the Datatag website, they just seem to be interested in collecting a fee for changing to the new owners details.

When I bought my Kawasaki of lovelyness, the previous owner had data-tagged the bike.
I’ve had the bike 18 years now and there has never been an issue.

I can't think why there would be any issue. It's got nothing to do with the DVLA. As long as you change the keeper (fork's sake, don't trust the new owner to do it), you're good.

I guess you might get a call from a copper down the line saying that they've recovered some parts from "your" bike, and do you want them back?
