Bit of a long shot, but does anyone know where I can park a bike near Southampton station without it disappearing? Can I put it in an SWR station car park without coming back to a yellow envelope?

The council bay over the road looks really dodgy - right on the road with nothing to put a chain through and perfect to pull up by with a Transit.

the place is a crime ridden dump like most cities.
if you want to risk public parking Town Quay where the ferry terminal is at would be your best bet. a few bikes park there regularly.
either outside the terminal office or a hundred yards further up on the quay.
about a 20 minute walk from the station.

Yeah, it does seem a bit, ahh, dumpier than York - but work's work.
I did see a few parked down there yesterday, so that's probably a good shout.
How about the place under West Quay - the Podium I think it is?

My uni girlfriend moved to York, a buxom blonde optician, name of Louise - do you know her?

yeah actually there is

these hen nights at the weekend bring some slappers out of the woodwork though, f*** me - a few years ago york became something of a destination city for hen nights, not sure why cos it's really expensive

I decided to check out Southampton station, because I don't think I've ever been outside it. I've been there and changed trains, but I've never been outside it.

So I had a look at the station car park on Google Street View, and I'm struck by this chap here:

Perhaps you could chain the bike to that post and ask him to look after it.
