Has this site suffered a data loss?

I have received a blackmail threat quoting an email and password which belong to only 2 sites I use. has this site lost data or suffered an attack? The Blackmailer claims to have compromised the site with a backdoor vulnerability.

I double checked and no, it has not - passwords are appropriately stored to prevent reverse engineering.

Very likely you've had your own system compromised or used a compromised one - it's not generally in the interests of an attacker to let you know where they have compromised you - so that you look elsewhere and don't remove the threat..
