My thumb gets stuck a lot, and makes a big clicky noise when I move it.

At least three of my fingers get stuck in the closed position, when I wake up in the morning, I have to use the other hand to straighten them out on whichever hand the stuck fingers are on I cant move them on their own accord.

I think I have "Trigger Finger". Which at least sounds cool.

Anyone else have this problem?

Going to see doc in the morning, cos it's been getting worse over the past months

I haven't but my wife had a middle finger that got so bad she had the operation.

That was a few years ago....It's started sticking again.

I am glad she doesn't finger my bum.

I get it from time to time in my right hand ring finger. I can usually tell when I need to be careful and just avoid gripping anything too tightly. It has only given me an anxious moment once when it locked so tightly I thought it wasn't going to straighten again. A bit of careful massage and patient effort saw it right though.

I think you can get steroid injections for it although I've never actually asked.

When you hold your fingers together and extend them with your palm flat (e.g. if you place your palms on a table, fingers together), are there odd gaps between them, or do they fit together without gaps?

I've developed it in my right hand, middle and ring finger, been like it for a couple of months. Bloody painful in the morning, but it loosens up as the day goes on. Ibuprofen raises my blood pressure, but I've just started a two week course to reduce the swelling and give the tendons a chance to recover. 90% of my work means if I'm not using the mouse, I'm typing, so that doesn't help.

An op would mean my right hand would be out of action for a while, and a fucked back means I can't wipe my arse with my left hand. Gonna need a sponge on a stick.

I have it in my right middle finger.

Got it in the deep freeze of 2010 repeatedly hacking at compacted snow and ice with a spade.

Worse first thing in the morning then usually eases up after a short while.

Count yourself lucky... if I hold a wrench wrong I usually end up dislocating some fingers rather than loosening a bolt Sad

Yes, gap. But that might be cos of damaged nerves, can't fully move or feel properly in one finger, after an accident at work years ago.

ah, thanks Thumbs Up

would have just ignored it tbh, but the other day I couldn't grab my brake lever properly, and only some of my fingers could move, and I couldn't move the lever far as the wonky fingers were in the way Sick

I had one of these, and it consisted of 4 hours of pre 'op' bureaucracy (signing forms promising not to die, etc. etc.) and the 'op' lasted about 30 seconds.
