I recently purchased a 2011 YBR125 to restore for a friend and i have got stuck with the indicators.

The bike was purchased as a typical tatty learner bike with 8k Bike on the clocks.

The seller advised that some of the indicators did not work so i assumed in might be just the bulbs. Unfortunately its not. (They are factory fitted indicators)

So.... What happens.

LEFT

When you indicator left the rear right indicator lights up and stays on constantly (not flashing). The Front Left indicator does not flash or even light up.

RIGHT

When you indicate right the rear right indicator flashes but the front right does not flash at all or even light up.

What I have done so far:-

Replace all 4 bulbs with like for like replacement bulbs (tested bulbs in other bike)

Replaced the Indicator relay with a Solid State Relay stated as suitable for the bike. This had no effect on how the indicators were not working. So i don't think its the relay. Maybe i should buy a genuine Yamaha Relay?

I have wiggled all the wires and cleaned all the electrical contacts i can see. This has not fixed anything.

I am now struggling and would be grateful if anyone has any suggestions to help me fix this.

I have attached a dropbox link to a video showing the fault. It probably easier to see the fault using the video that understanding my explanation

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good auto electrician in the Leeds/Bradford Area?

Pity your not in Bristol I'd take yer money off ya Very Happy

I have a 2011 ybr here I'm sorting out
When I've got the engine back in and the wheels back on
l'll have look around it and take pics/make notes
(cos i'll no doubt see it again)

For now if I were you, I'd get a meter and check for bad earthing
and connections on the non working lamps
the connector on this one look a bit shabby and had the weather in
so will be checked and cleaned

BTW I still haven't found a FREE online service manual so if anyone knows of one please do tell
I told the owner to buy one but...........

If one of the indicators was working then the original relay was fine.

Both front indicators aren't working, so trace the wires back and make sure they're plugged in. They probably share the same earth wire, so I would look there first. Probably hidden inside the headlamp shell.
