Getting really tempted with one of these, been looking at a 2014 model but read some worrying reviews regarding the back wheel and electrics, has anyone got one or can give some experience on them?

Do i just avoid the 2014 model?

I’ve got a 2017 bike, absolutely stonking machine. I’ve done 9k of weekend riding since September and couldn’t ask for much more.

The 2014 did have a few niggles like every new model, buy a 2015 bike and you should be fine. If you go looking online, all bikes have issues.

I really want one but there's not much point getting it now as the summer is nearly over. Will see what's about come March, run the Husky over winter for the odd day here or there.

picking a 2016 up tomorrow...not been this excited about a bike for a long time. Can't bring myself to spend the cash on a new one, but i'm still getting my dream bike so well happy.

Seems everyone is getting rid of the 2014 model, either upgrading or due to the niggles it has, can get one pretty cheap at the moment.

I'm seriously thinking about a 1290 too. After 18 months on the very impressive V-Strom I'm sold on the all day comfort that this style of bikes offers. Plus the KTM has another 60 ponies Twisted Evil . So much for "I don't need big power any more". I wondered how long that would last Laughing
Please let us know your impressions of the bike.

Enjoy!!

How is it man? Still looking at them, my Husky is having some more warranty work done towards the end of August, so I will see what deals are on 1290's as I'm due for chopping the RSV4 in.
