I bought a copy of this (as in, actually paid cold hard money for it) in order to be able to do something interesting with video footage captured either on the bike or while scuba diving. However I've been finding it petty hard going to get to grips with it.

Most notably, I would like to be able to simply extract short clips from long half-hour files, but this is completely eluding me. Google ain't helping either. Surely this must be bread and butter for a program like this?

If anybody can help, I promise not to post any clips on BCF... Wink

Click the timeline drag the slider to the start or end and there should be a cut icon in the middle of the slider. This is to cut up the video you can then delete the bits you do not need and move the clips about. It's pretty straight forward tbh.

At least that is how you do it in PE12. Thumbs Up

Use Youtube, and trim them, always save trimmed videos as a new file, So you have the original footage to use again, most people host them there anyway, so uploading is uploading.
I got Adobe Prem Pro for editing drone footage, its a faff to do basic things.

In Windows 10, the photo viewer allows you to view, trim and save snippets from video.

It's worth getting to grips with Premiere though, you can do so much more in particular using it more like photoshop when the recording didn't come out quite as you expected, e.g. too dark, too bright, audio levels. You also get full control of output dimensions and bitrate etc.
