Hi everyone,

I'm new to the motorbike world but recently passed my CBT and got myself a lexmoto venom to get used to being on the roads. Since I've had the bike I've done 400 miles on it but its began to be a bit rubbish on start up.

When it's doing a cold start the engine wont tick over with the choke either in our out, as soon as you take away the revs then engine cuts out. When you manage to get the bike going it runs really boggy for about ten minutes until engine temperature picks up.

Once the bike is upto temp it runs perfect.

I've changed the air and fuel filter as well as fitting a new plug with a 0.6mm gap.

Any advice on this would be helpful as I dont know were to look next Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Check for air leaks around the air filter and manifold.

I'd expect a little bike to get up to temp in a few minutes. 10 minutes or so is something else...

When's the last time the valve clearances were checked?

I dont think the valve clearances have ever been checked, it's done 4000 miles in total now and previous owner never mentioned about the valve clearance being checked.

I checked around the air manifold for any leaks when I changed the filter but it seemed in mint condition.
