Hi chaps.
I'm in the market for both replacement battery and tyre - budget of course as I'm just a poor, disabled OAP - and looking for recommendations.

Battery: 12 volt, 14 A/Hr

Tyre: Currently 3.25 x 19, although the metric equivalent would be acceptable.

Ta very glad.

Hi, type of bike for the battery info and how and where you ride will help with tyre recommendations.

It's for this
https://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac329/Sir-Henry_album/Trike/Trike%202_zpsmkgndesu.jpg
Now finished (kind of) but no MOT and just used for display purposes.
Hope to have it back on the road while I'm still capable of piloting it from place to place.
It used to be a Suzuki GS850GN

Same as my front wheel I think

I just got 100/90/19 Avon Road Rider fitted ( loose wheel) for £87-ish , good for general purpose hacking about.
If moneys no object, you can shell out lots more for summat sporty

Battery same rating as mine too
I have Lion LB14L-A2 which has lasted long enough for me to forget when I bought it.
Guessing it was £30 £40 or so?
Check for the position of the pos and neg terminals
( Left or Right hand side)before buying.
It may not be an issue on your trike, but can be on a bike with restricted battery access, so best check anyway.

If you buy a battery and don't use it, it will suffer if neglected

Hang on.
If it's for that trike why bother with a bike battery?
They're always a trade off between available space and capacity
I'd make up a tray and bung in a small cheap car battery.

WD Forte. The battery tray is original, but mounted at right angles to its original location. As such it only takes up to the battery size stated.

Aside: Do I detect a 'trikers aren't bikers' attitude on here?

It's as bad as 'scooterists aren't bikers'. What I choose to ride with less than 4 wheels is my concern I don't need 'bikers' looking down on me because I'm slightly different to them. They don't have the right.

I was riding real bikes when most of you weren't even itches in the milkman's ball sack.

Look what is in there already, and use this to compare it to and order the motobatt battery from where ever is cheapest:

https://www.motobatt.com/download/motobatt%20catalogue%202014%20for%20web.pdf

If you can't find your battery in that chart, you might need to remove it and measure it to make sure the replacement will fit.

oponeo were the cheapest for tyres the last time I used them, but you'd need to check yourself to see what the prices are nowadays.

I don't think there's specifically an anti-trike attitude, especially as you're a disabled OAP so have a good reason to ride one. That said, they don't hold back if you're disabled either.

Looks like you're missing a number from your tyre size.

Thanks for the info, BlueZedd. I'll check it out.

As implied; the battery size is based on the one currently fitted into the tight space under the seat. The tray will only take 13cms X 19 cms and the current height of 17 cms isn't much less than the available head room.

The full tyre specs are: 3.25 - 54H. I'm willing to go metric if required Twisted Evil

I've noted that, amongst the triker's club I've recently joined, there's a tendency for owners to be of generous girth, advanced years and imbibers of strong spirits, with American Bourbon being a strong contender if not actual favourite. *HIC*

Battery: look at Tayna's site, find something with a decent guarantee, if you can't fit a car battery as otherwise advised.

Tyre: Avon SM MkII rear fitted on front or Avon triple duty sidecar or Metzeler block K.

Edit: rise above it, not to it.....

Fisty. I own cars and another bike (2 wheels only). What's wrong with something inbetween?
Do you say the same about chairs?

To others: Thanks for all the info.

Ps. Trikers also tend to be quite hirsute around the chin.

It doesn't look so 'finished' to me and not nearly road ready.
If someone brought that to me I wouldn't even think of the front tyre and battery
right now, that's the easy stuff
I'd be asking
What happened to the tank, headlight, front mudguard and exhaust system?
Why are the plug leads hanging off?
Why no Pod filters at least?
Does it even run?
Its an almost 40 year old engine, I'd want to know about its condition

You've also asked about getting an original numberplate and running it without a proper exhaust,I'd suggest you focus on more important issues or it will remain another abandoned project.

It isn't something inbetween.

It has no advantages over a bike and none over a car.

You can't take a family camping on it and you can't filter on it.

It is just a styling thing that serves no point other than posing.

To be fair, it is something inbetween as OP has already stated he's old and disabled.

I don't remember people having a go at the guy who had the hayabusa trike on here cos he was disabled.

Trouble, just let the insults flow over you like water off a ducks back.

I am a Trike fan and I also like GoldWings and other monstrosities that the BCF riff raff fail to appreciate Wink

Some Trikes I owned. Other than the 1500 Wing, all built or modified by my own fair paws. I made many more but was in the days of roll film and I cannot find any pictures of them Crying or Very sad

Fisty. "You can't take a family camping on it ..."

However I can take 2 passengers and tow a trailer with it. The builder included a towball mounting point. I bought the tow ball yesterday for £2.

"... and you can't filter on it."

I can't filter with any of my cars; so what?

Also I can tow it behind my campervan (see below) to steam/transport fairs and get entrance plus a weekend camping for free.
