I think Adam Aarons's contacts in Mossad garrotted him. At any rate, his ahem sabbatical coincided with the height of the RainPal wars.

He moved on to be the lulziest in Camberley. It's a big job, so he doesn't have time for BCF anymore........

Suntan Sids post has made for interesting reading,in between trying to sort out probate stuff, talk to family about my brother's suicide,be a Grandad and helping my youngest daughter with DIY.

Mrs.Fizzer started a new job in January and so her time off work for a decent holiday will have to wait until next year.

So all of these things has meant that I read more than post on here.

Luckily, with Suntan Sid's help,I have been able to modify the photobucket attachments and some of my posts have more meaning once again.

Do not get disheartened folks. There are many other forums that still do not get the support that BCF gets Thumbs Up Wink

I still stalk the forum in idle moments, but don't post much as most of the active discussion seems to be about Brexit, kicking out darkies etc and I can be abused for my 'snowflake' views in person anywhere - I don't need the internet for that....

I do like the touring stories, biking histories and the 'builds' though, long may they continue...

Point being that the Politics bit used to be interesting and now it isn't. When I first started coming here many years ago the debate was just that - debate. Now it is more like a Britain First love-in.

Starting about halfway down page 3 and onwards. Shows half the problems this forum faces.
Sure many other forums face the same issues.
But the fact there is scant moderation means it just keeps escalating.

As some one else said.

Let it drop and don't respond.

Become the bigger adult and ignore the idiot's & trolls.

Otherwise new blood will not come in. They will simply look, think shit. I'm not staying With all that crap being posted.

There's never any scandal in Fites and Flames Wars now-a-days either. Sad

I loved F&FW too.

All forums are largely dying to a lesser or greater extent thanks to social media and as has been mentioned peoples behaviours and an always on/connected to WiFi and instant messaging attitude and expectations. People well the ones glued to thier personal devices mainly phones, won't wait until they get home and log onto their favourite forum's to check for answers and replies to questions etc.

BCF should think itself lucky it's not a marque or model specific forum as those have been hit harder than some. Let's remember that photobucket killed alot of regular show and tell posters interest on lots of forums too.

A few forums seem to be very busy still, like Retro Rides etc but I expect that this is due to a high picture content and lots of capable people all doing quite specialist and skilled work.

As for thick fucking newbies and wanting to appeal to new blood, I don't see the point? These nieve clueless people often ask the same old questions over and over, like riding a bike has just been invented and that they are the first people to have to make a buying decision.

Its part of the Millenials and snowflake generation, to research everything on line, and listen to 100's of reviews and third hand info, without ever trying anything for themselves or making a decision and saying fuck it I'll chalk it all up to experience.

Forums will die out and get quieter as we been there, seen stuff and done stuff in the real world not the gaming one, age and die out too. You can't keep motorcycling interesting if there's too much anti bike legislation, licencing restrictions, and lack of interest by manufacturers to have an arms race to the top of every class at any expense.

Look at the 80's and 90's 750's superbike space race, and the Italian 125 racer for the road space race for example. Very exciting times, when being the best at any cost or going bust was of huge importance.

In an age of how can we make some basic tech cheap to produce bikes with cheap materials and a bit of alien style to try and make them appeal all funky to would be buyer's that are more interested in electronic features and rider aids than adjustable suspension and steering geometry, then alot of people that can see through the Bullshit are going to be turned right off. The least costly, cheaply made bike at the most profit is going to make nobody's dick hard is it?

Enough for some folk to give up on bikes and thus forums even.

True. We were all naive newbies once, eager to learn. Also, those questions are probably a more acceptable introduction to the forum than, "Hello, I've got a motorbike." Shame some people immediately shoot them down when one of the alleged positives of biking is 'the biking community.' On the other hand it's a baptism of fire. Survive and you've earned your place. Flounce and... well.

I reckon this forum is pretty healthy. Anyone who spent time on the old Motorcycle News forum knows it could be far, far worse! It was a mercy when they "updated" the forum software and finally drove all but a handful away. The remaining members' bickering about nothing ultimately drove the publisher to kill it in favour of Facebook, I believe.

People will ask the same questions as have been asked before.
It's a fact of life. No one was born knowing everything. Except Stinkwheel and maybe the Borg (but I'm sure the borg cheats and uses google a lot).

Arguing without facts or valid evidence is fun.

We need a new mug. Some more stickers, a better identity.

It was a shame about the BBQ as that was a good bonding event with people who couldn't go looking at the people who did and trying to get to the next one. It's like an advert for the loons.

Next years BBQ will be a good one no matter where it is as I hope all will make a big effort to attend.

Summer is always a lean time due to people actually being out on their bikes, but we do need the characters back, even the stupid ones as they too make the forum what it is.

I'm sure it will pick up as these things do, we just need to go through the pain barrier and not have a self fulfilling prophecy. We need to big up the forum not show it's down fall.
