Screen looks OK. Icons on screen work when touched. Can't use back home recent buttons normally, were working earlier today. Can get home screen by pressing fingerprint scanner (fingerprint lock has been disabled for months, I don't use access control). In-app, e.g. phone, pressing back/home/ recent calls one or another of my "favourite" numbers! In text messaging, the back home recent buttons produce comma space or dot in text messages, not consistently, as if the screen area where these "buttons" are has moved up a line. I haven't installed any apps today. Have rebooted several times.

Phone is Ulefone Gemeni.

What's happened? Any ideas, or of how to fix? Any other debug info of interest?

I have been Googling like mad. The "case" isn't pressing any physical buttons. Physical buttons seem functional. I don't think there's been an auto-update of Android. I have removed the SIM card, tested (no change), replaced SIM (no change).

<Gloom>I have looked at that. I've just ried rebooting into "safe mode", now the poxy thing's doing something in "Chinglish". It looks as thpough it might be going through some diagnostic routine, but it's hard to tell what it all means, and it does not seem to be interruptible.

Grr! No change in behaviour. God, I hate IT. Plus the bloody microwave's packed up, and it's not the fuse in the plug or the 5KV fuse. Blast.

Fuses are prone to "go", then many people throw away the whole oven which is wasteful. A 5kV fuse is about £1.50. However, this one's blown the ceramic quick-blow fuse on the line filter. Easier to fix than a dratted smartphone though.

Well. I went for the "Back Button" app., which puts the required buttons on-screen as icons. Not precisely wonderful, but a workaround for now.
