New Bikers quick question

Hi all

My brother in law was a new biker and had a crash. He has now given up. He never thought of an emergency call system (e-call) like what's offered by BMW but I am think ing of one now.

Would new bikers consider buying an e-call system if it was cheap enough?

I did vote yes and I didn't mean to. I don't know how to remove it. I will just discount it from the total.

Thanks for the link. This was a question I asked a while ago but what I was thinking of had too much in it. After my brother in laws accident he suggested just doing a e-call. It's something I've been thinking about since I saw him lying on the ground. I'm looking into just an e-call if people are interested.

Any feedback from actual riders is much appreciated.

It can be seen from my Z1000sx posts that I comment all things from touring to accessories. I am not a businessman or marketer. I am simply a biker with an idea. I may just build it for myself, but I was interested to know if it's something others would like.

Yup I had a go at an idea..and gave it up. Was going to have a go at building just an ecall. I will probably just forget it and never ask again.

There seems to be some confusion of my intent.

I have had bikes for >20 years. I commute, track day, tour and do the odd meet. When touring I wanted to use my phone for navigation as I couldn't justify a Tomtom or Garmin. It had to be offline as I wouldn't have a data signal on my tour. I found the offline maps for the phone not great so I thought "I could make a biker specifc one!". The idea then grew to masses of features and I thought I could pack my job in and make a business out of it. This was the question in the Z1000sx link. I was delusional so binned it!

Then my brother in law had a crash. A bad one. 2 broken vertebrae in the neck. I've attached a picture of the aftermath.

I then started to think about an ecall. I couldn't find one that just worked so I didn't buy one. I needed a subscription(I would prefer to just buy it), buy and charge Sena and I needed to remember to enable it and disable it! All had some degree of hassle so not what I fancied.

I thought I would try and make one myself. I would be delusional to think this could be a business as well but if I could make it for others as well then great...I just might!

What this does not make me...a "c*nt".
