hi all

waterproof/slightly warm gloves. I find it very difficult to find gloves which fit as I have wide hands but short fingers Laughing the only gloves which I seem to fit into are the elasticated cuff type as the type with the velcro closure I can't get my palm through and unless I buy a size way too big in finger length, these gloves in a Large fit me perfect and I rode 2 years with them (with numb and cold hands in winter - thats why I am looking for something similar but waterproof and perhaps slightly more warm), i prefer the thin palm type as I find proper winter gloves I cannot really feel the clutch and brake very well

cheers

The only real protection for warm and dry hands in the winter, is a pair of muffs.

There really isn't any other way.

This. Particularly combined with heated grips.

I wear thin Bering racing gloves year round:

They're very thin. They look very much like this:

https://www.ajeltech.com/images/US21/Bering_VX1_Gloves_0001.jpg

But they have a bigger wrist area.

They don't provide any warmth and they are not water proof whatsoever. After years of looking for gloves that don't leak after a few weeks I thought meh...

But I keep my handlebar muffs on all year round. It works pretty well.

luckily I just commute in London so don't pick up crazy speeds Rolling Eyes so not too cold but it does get a bit nippy, I may need to bite the bullet and stick on muffs this winter as last winter was a bit of a killer. muffs on a sportsbike though Neutral Rolling Eyes Laughing but who cares

I use heated grips and summer gloves now, astars smx air carbon 2. Still gets a bit chilly but definitely a lot more manageable. Muffs will always be better though.

I tried heated gloves for awhile and whilst they work amazingly well they were just far too bulky, nearly resulting in an accident, fumbling over the brake like mjfox over a titty Embarassed

Last two bikes have been OEM fitted, but have heard people had success with the Oxford Hotgrips, maybe someone has more info.

Current line of premium oxfords are good, the touring ones are very comfortable, but I found them a bit short for my 2xl shovel-hands. Adventure ones are about an inch longer. measure the grips fitted to your bike and compare to oxford specs.

I like goretex + xtrafit gloves for wet weather riding in the summer and general winter use, with muffs during the worst of it. Frustratingly the IXS gloves I like have been discontinued and I'm looking for a suitable replacement as I've had this set 4 years and they're on their last legs.

Muffs are the permanent solution. The biggest problem in the winter is the wind chill.

Having said that I do only short winter rides and with heated grips this Halvarssons Primus mittens do the job fine. The reason is mittens emulate muffs to a point. You have an air separating your fingers to a point from the actual glove outer skin.

Also they will be comfty no matter what is your hand or fingers in your case.
