yeah WoS had all the "best" stuff. Best, as in that as a kid it was more watchable, specially stock car racing.

I liked the wrestling. We got glimpses of American wrestling back then, and I didn't like it, still don't.
Amused me when Jackie Pallo released his book exposing wrestling as a fix.Even as a little kid, I realised you can't really jump on peoples necks for real and they get up again.

Lovejoy. Ian Mcshane as a dodgy antique-shifting, low-level sexpest, borderline lawbreaking investigating geezer bloke in the home counties.

With his divvy, Tinker Dill.

Not forgetting kids speedway drama King Cinder, starring soon to be Blue Peter dare devil Noaksey replacement (and later Chief Scout) Peter Duncan.

And continuing the bike/Blue Peter connection, there was trials competition Kick Start, presented first time around by sex pest DLT, then for the next 8 years by Peter Purves.

There was also the spin off Junior Kick Start, which gave us the clip featured almost every time on It'll Be Alright On The Night, of the kid falling into a ditch and his St John's wouldbe rescuers, falling into the ditch after him, with Purves corpsing like a boss.

I'm reading the books at the moment, I'm on my third.

He's a bit different to how he is on TV, for a start so far they are all murder mysteries and also he punches his girlfriend on page one of the first book because she wouldn't be quiet when he was on the phone. He also regularly beats people up or threatens them with permanent debilitating leg or arm injuries to get his own way. I am enjoying them though.

In english at school we had to watch a recording of Shakespeare plays on "the school video" we found it hard enough to take it seriously as most of the cast had been in playschool or playaway

Merchant of Venice "All that glisters is not gold; Often have you heard that told." So I shouted out 'Don't take it, it's dusty bin'. Which both got me booted out of the classroom, and brought the house down. Very Happy

I remember MTV starting and it was all about the Music Video. Music of all types with Bowie complaining that there was no music from Black artists on during the day and prime time. Now there is now White music and it is all gangster black, I was going to say music but its just noise now. Mainly crap programs with nothing to do with music too.

I watched MTV Europe during the 90's on SKY, non stop music and got a great dose of German material. Sadly it all went wrong and MTV Europe was replaced with MTV UK which was utter shite.

Now it's 90 percent reality shows, do they ever play music now?
