We got my 16 yr old (tomorrow) a brand new mash but it’s been in garage for month so maybe a bit damp or cold husband tried to start it up yesterday but it wasn’t quite getting there any tips please as son is doing cbt Saturday (on one of the schools mopeds) and is desperate to get out there!

I split this post from a necro-thread in show and tell.

I'd suggest charging the battery, making sure there is fuel in, making sure the fuel is ON if there is a tap and making sure the kill switch is set to run.

If none of that helps, call the dealers because if it's a new bike, it will be under warranty.

Most CBT providers can provide a hire bike for the day. Maybe even better? Crash their one learning to do emergency stops.

As said above, if it's the same as the 50 Roadstar, then it's good old fashioned carb.

Now, if it sounds like it's almost starting, you, are you starting it with the choke on? Tried the kickstart?

Also, in case it's not been setup properly by the dealer, check to see if the side stand switch is loose/working, you may need to try and disconnect it, but, I haven't done that with the nipper's 50
