Suzuki Gladius C42 error code- Ignition switch removal

Hello everyone

My Suzuki Gladius (2009 model) has decided to not work. It shows a flashing FI icon and so I used the wire method to get the fault code. It came up with c42 which is the ignition switch- I have decided to remove it, possibly try and fix it and if not then replace it however I am having trouble with removing the thing!

I read it takes a security torx bit size 40- IIRC so I bought this part and when I went to use it, to my horror I am totally baffled as the bolts, which attaches it to the triple tree clamp, is a flat metal disk. I have tried to wedge the disks out but this doesnt seem to be working. I am running out of ideas and I cant imagine I am going to gain anything by removing the triple tree clamp. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I believe those screws have a double head type setup and when the screw is tight enough the top part, with the recess for the tool to do it up, shears off and leaves you with a tightened screw in place and no means of extracting it!
It's a security feature to try to stop every thieving scum on the planet from removing the ignition block and hot wiring the machine.

First things first, spray some brake cleaner into your barrel work the key in and out and through all the positions. Rinse and repeat a couple of times and see if that helps then get some dry lube in there something like https://wd40.co.uk/specialist/anti-friction-dry-ptfe-lubricant/

I had a similar issue on my SV and it was down to a build up of crap in the barrel meaning the circuit in there couldn't complete when the key was in, the above fixed it.
