Not sure how many of you on here listen to the Joe Rogan podcast, but there was a great episode a day or so ago with Elon Musk, interesting conversation.

He smoked a blunt and drank whisky on the podcast, shares fall in Tesla and being the CEO of SpaceX, he's being investigated about his recreational drug use.

I've never smoked but I'm pretty sure you have to inhale.
Others may be along soon to confirm either way.

I'm not sure what to make of him. Some of the things he supposedly does is so far fetched it's almost unbelievable. The synchronised landing of the jet propulsion modules looked so accurate, it didn't look real. He comes across as a real life Tony Stark type fella.

This car he sent up in space, which is now floating around uncontrollably. I take it, there's no chance of it ever getting pulled into the gravity of a passing planet then? That would be an interesting insurance claim if it came crashing back down to earth.

It would burn up on re-entry well before it was an issue

do you even science bro?

A more plausible scenario is that is collides with a satelite causing damage, but there that much space junk up the it would nearly impossible to prove it was the car

More plausible? Maybe just, but still such an infinitesimally small chance that it's not even worth considering.

He took one puff and didn't inhale.

It's like he's trying to piss off stockholders / push the price down so he can rebuy at a lower price.

He also said weed doesn't affect him....yeah you need to inhale dude.

Also the car thing was a test payload. They needed to test the Falcon heavy so rather than risk a $100mil satellite, he can use a car and it works as a giant advert as well.

That's between 2 satellites that were in comparable Low Earth Orbits (around 2,000 - 8,000 km from the surface of the Earth). Not something that's been slung way out into the solar system on a solar orbit (note, it's not in orbit around the Earth). It's next close approach to Earth in 2021 is expected to be 41 million km away.

That's the thing about space, it's pretty big...

Yeah, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space.

By the way, the smallest scale at the beginning of the vid, 2.5 light years.
It would take our fastest rockets about 40,000 years to cover that distance.

Best not to think about it really
