If your £1200 2080Ti can't do 60fps at 1080p with RT on YOUR OWN DEMO, it's not a viable advancement. I'm glad Nvidia are doing new things in the lull when AMD can't really challenge them with a card anyway, but this is just not a reasonable upgrade for most people.


RTX was rushed out. Moore's law is making process shrinks harder. RTX (Turing) is just a really big Pascal chip with RTX on it, and it shows because it drinks power and because the die is so big is costs a fortune. Right now the GTX10xx series are a much better buy than RTX. Nobody should be buying RTX unless they need ray tracing for business purposes.
