hi guys
my old garage door lock is getting quite old so want to get a new one, price isn't much of an issue, are Abloy still the decent locks to get? was thinking of one of these:

something which can't be cropped, its either a new one of these or a garage defender or both Rolling Eyes Laughing

cheers

What type of garage door is it?

The more security on the outside - the more you're showing you have something worth nicking. If you can secure from the inside, this will be the much better option.

The padlock itself is irrelevant. The issue is the type of bolt it attaches to. Can that be cropped easily? On 99% of garage doors, yes. That's what happened to my old garage. Three 'gate' type bolts were all cropped and the padlocks were left on the floor undamaged.

A garage defender which prevents the door from being opened is definitely a better option. Also worth reinforcing the corners of a sheet metal door as sometimes crims just bend up the corners and nick small items.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
