So I'm new to biking and I had a little mishap recently on-the-road, needless to say my bike was trashed and I need to replace my entire fairing. I am still learning the ropes both mechanical and on-the-road. I believe the local garage is trying to rip me off, I am seeing full-fairings going for around £500 whereas the garage is trying to fork me out for close to £2000 for repairs... so needless to say I am looking at getting down and doing it myself. My only concern being is I cannot find fairings for the 2018 version of my bike... the fairings I do see are from 08-13, would this be compatible with my 2018 version of the bike?

Cheers lads, appreciate any help

Hi Lad, if you need to replace the entire fairing, I'd be surprised were there no other damage. Pictures?

Perhaps a 2018 fairing is more money. If you can't find one, how do you know? "Repairs" in any case will cost more than the price of the component.

Is it an insurance job?

Perhaps ask Yamaha whether an old fairing will fit your bike.
