BCF people, not bikes.
Lack of funds is my excuse. What's yours?
I have missed reading good tour reports here this year Sad

I only do it for the likes brah.

kids, time, money... life gets in the way.

that said, I managed to get away for a shorty to Germany this year. was just enough of a fix coupled with other family trips over the alps in the car.

hopefully do similar next year. maybe take in a moto gp, or world ducati week... or maybe just ride around aimlessly

I was going to do a writeup of my trip in August but that was cut short due to my bike getting nicked.

I am definitely not keen on doing any more trips on my own bike but will be looking at doing something further afield on a hire bike next year/year after. I like the look of doing the lower Himalayas on Enfield's.

That was a great shame. Is the bike all sorted now?

Me too! But I'd like to spend longer there and do some trekking as well. Pipe dreams, alas.

I'm doing Sierra Nevada provinces on an Enflield (not mine) in March. I shall try to write that one up.

Yeah but you go off to Uzbekistan for the weekend - Skegness doesn't tend to have the same appeal Laughing

All the parts have arrived except for a new top yoke protector. This weekend its getting sorted, finally as it feel like forever since I rode it home and chained it up.

Trekking in the mountains would be awesome! Actually a visit to Everest base camp is something I desperately want to do too.

Tbh, that's the last place I'd want to go. Far too commercialised. I'd prefer K2 base camp, although it wouldn't surprise me if that's going the same way. Much longer trek though. Lots of places I'd prefer to head for rather than Everest. For trekking, I kind of fancy Bhutan. I don't see it ever happening though.

Mrs.Fizzer started a new job in January and is unable to take more than two weeks off in one go,so our rides abroad would be limited.

We also became grandparents on Boxing Day,so we have been busy in so many ways with the little one who was born five weeks prematurely.

Then we have had two deaths in the family;one from natural causes, the other of suicide,so my Mum has needed family around her.

We have been abroad by bike this year, but only to stay with friends just over the border from Eindhoven in Belgium.Had to take the Exup1000 as the FJ1200 is in bits having the rear sub-frame strengthened before being plastic coated, together with several other bits that need coating. That and I am modifying the wiring loom.

https://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv23/WiNot_Rhencullen/Biking%20Abroad/20180904_163433_zpsj7hekhbo.jpg~original

I bought some cheapo soft throw over panniers for £30 specifically for this ride of only 630 miles and apart from losing one of the rain covers they have survived for now.

Next year we are heading for Tuscanny as Mrs.Fizzer liked Italy much more than France when we were on the Continent in 2016.Last year we rode anti-clockwise around France, but just at the moment I have not written about that yet.

The best I can offer is a three day trip away in Wales via West London.
I plan to do the whole length of the A40 later this month, I hope, possibly, maybe, I think.

I’m not sure if I should use the Honley RX3 or the Hyosung gt250.

If the mini trip goes ahead, I’ll make a point of posting a few pics and a little write up.

I have the bike, kit, money , all I need to do now is put the effort in to actually do it.

It's been mentioned elsewhere that BCFers tend to post their touring exploits on Facebook. There have been a few.

I blame Photobucket. Since they started charging it's too much of a faff for many to post pics and write-ups of tours here.

Shame tho innit.

Awaiting the passport service to decide if I need an interview or not to renew my passport.

Use Imgur - yeah it could do the same as photobucket, but it works for now and it's free.

I don’t do Facecrap, so there’s one avenue for me not to post on.

I agree about Photobucket mucking up. I had just got the hang of how to use it and post on here. Then they wiped all my pictures Mad and informed me that it’s time for me to pay Crying or Very sad .

I like this forum, and am another one who doesn't do Facebook. Old-fashioned, dinosaur, stick-in-the-mud - call me whatever, but I'm happy here. No wonder the forum is dying though.

Oh well, RIP BCF.

And arry is right - The shenanigans at Photobucket shouldn't be an excuse - if I can switch to another hosting site, so can others.
