Declare Bike Colour Change on V5 doc

Hi there,

I am interested in replacing the body panels, and painting parts of my bike so that it has a different (but manufacturer authentic) colour scheme.

After painting the bike in the more desirable colour, I want to sell it.

My question is therefore, if I declare the colour on the log book, is there a note saying the colour was changed or are there no remarks?

Ideally there would be no record of it Smile

That's useful info, thanks. I only have an old V5 from about 10 years ago for a Ducati and the colour is stated there in a box labelled 'R'

This document is more than 10 years old, so hopefully they have now removed it?

I recently changed the colour of my bike and declaring the change and getting the paperwork back from Swansea was simple and painless. The new V5 just says 'Black' in the colour slot. It is wise to keep it up to date if you've changed it. If you ever had a police stop, they would get the colour information on record when they check ownership. If you had the wrong colour recorded, they might start checking in detail in case the bike was a clone.
