Hi, Ive had the bike vandalised (immobilised) presumably to allow collection later by truck. Ive now moved it. They took the LH side panel next to the ignition switch and cut out a section of cabling so we're compiling a list of work to be done. My biggest issue is the panel was held on by an allen bolt but I can't see anything it could have screwed into ie was there a lug on the frame they've snapped off! Has anyone got a photo of that location so I can see what I'm missing, if anything. Thanks in advance.

Not sure but i had a GN400 with rubber grommets that pushed onto the frames metal nipples. Is the other side a mirror image?

When trying to figure out bits I need I use a combination of a Haynes manual and the pdfs from parts catalogues (in my case it's either directly to the Yamaha parts catalogue or fowlers parts).

I am not sure which year your bike is but look through the diagrams here: https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/browser/manufacturer/suzuki/bike/vl125-intruder/year/2000/colour/all-colours/gallery

Hi, Thanks guys for the info.

Jaffa90 - Good idea! I don't think the opposite side is an exact mirror image but I'll take that panel off next week as it may give me a clue. The bike has been moved to a garage a few miles away in the hope we can repair it, so I don't have immediate access.

TigerWax - Thanks for Fowlers link. It shows a lug welded to the frame which the allen bolt would screw into, but that's not there. There appear to be 2 shallow lugs but no hole for the bolt. It could be one lug folded over but again no sign of a hole, or remains of a lug snapped off. I'll follow "jaffa90's" idea to look at the opposite panel. If the potential thieves have snapped the lug off in forcing the panel off, it's not something that can be easily repaired, certainly I wouldn't think of welding without dismantling a fair bit of the bike, which could make repair uneconomical.

Many thanks guys
