Does anyone have a tomtom and use tyre to plan rides?
It might seem strange that after owning my sat nav for 4 years today was the first time i planned a ride on my PC and transferred to the sat nav and went for a ride.
Admittedly i set the destination to somewhere i was familiar with, but kinda did the long way round involving some nice twisties
However, on one 'A' road it decided to send me up through a housing estate instead of going right at the next set of lights.... so i ignored it and waited for it to recalculate.
It refused and wouldnt move on until i went where i said i would?
From this it seems tyre uses waypoints that MUST be passed.
I ended up pulling over and cancelling the route.
Before i try this again is there a way round this? ____________________ You know you are old when you're told to slow down by your doctor and not the police. |

I use MyRoute with my TomTom Rider and I think it’s great for the purpose it serves. I don’t really suffer any dramas with it. They have recently reduced the options available on the website to the Free Membership, but I can still plan a route well enough and send it to my TomTom hassle free.
The only niggle I have is that it sends two maps to my TomTom - the same map, but one labelled Track and one labelled Route. I don’t see a reason or a need for this duplication. In their FAQ they advise you to use the Track option, as it will keep you on course with your itinerary, but I’m sure I’ve used both and it doesn’t really matter.
There is an app for you phone as well, which is great for looking at routes, and it can record your ride to save as a log. I would like it if the app could plan a route and send to my TomTom, but I’m probably asking too much of free software. ____________________ This is my motorcycle.
