I've been sorting some stuff out so haven't posted in a bit. Just wondering if walloper has come back. Or if there is anyone else out there that is trained.

Expecting the normal troll replies. But hopefully there is someone out there that's normal.

Best thing to do would be to go to your GP. They will be a able to refer you to a CPN who will then be able to help and refer you to a psychiatrist.

Go to your GP, don't mess about asking for advice from strangers on the internet.

There are many, many waiting lists along with many obstacles along the way.

It will take a long time until being assigned to a CPN.

I agree that going to see your GP is the first step but things will move incredibly slowly from there.

I don't agree. I think what happens is your name is put on a list and that's all that happens.

I've experienced someone close by me asking for help many, many times. Things don't move at all, let alone incredibly slowly.

I'd advise anyone with issues to pick a name of a practitioner (registered with a professional body, or you might end up spewing to another mental) from a web search and call them.

Things move incredibly slowly if at all but if you don't see your GP then you can 100% sure that nothing will ever happen and you will never progress in any of the waiting lists.

I don't recall it taking that long for a friend to get seen, weeks rather than months.

But that was years ago and we don't live in a big city.

Must say I wasn't aware that Walloper was a therapist, thought he was just a Heavy Equipment Technician?

You can often self-refer for your local "talking therapies" service. Takes a while, I referred myself back in about June, and have an appointment next week. And thats in London Shocked
