I ordered a plate of chips but one of the waiters shat on my plate instead. Do I still have to eat it or can I re-evaluate?

I joined a golf club and every time we went out to play golf I complained that it should be a tennis club. Eventually I left to go to join a tennis club. Should I stay at the golf club and carry on arguing for it to be converted into a tennis club?

Good analogy. The EU handed us a plate of excrement every day as a member which is why we should leave! We were treated like excrement too. Brexit has shown us their true colours, no true friend are they.

I'm a lefty luvvie,
I think brexit is a mistake,
I think most people didn't realise what they were voting for,
I think if the election was held again the outcome would be different,

I also think you are incredibly annoying and epitomise half the reasons there is so much vitriol around discussions of this issue.

No shit Sherlock. But then peeps may be so peeved with how the EU are treating us that the Leave vote may get much stronger.

You could say that about any election vote after 2 years of government fuck ups.

You have no idea why people voted Brexit. As you admit in your first line, you cannot relate to Brexit voters or their motivations. What are you doing is telling us your prejudiced views about Brexit voters.

Well Corbyn seems to have changed his views anyway. Anything to buy votes. He just says what he thinks will hoodwink the hard of thinking.
He's on his way to Brussels and taking over Brexit negotiations, along with the Abbopotomous and has appointed himself as leader of the UK. Nobody had told May yet.

Still keeping to his socialist roots though, he's threatening to orchestrate a 1920's style national strike to cripple the country until the current government let him cripple it even further. Unbelievable.

When did democracy die in this country?

Not much chance of that strike having any massive effect. Most of the union types now work for the state, not the private sector, so their power to cripple the economy is pretty limited. Doctors and nurses could go on strike for a month but all it would do is create loads of dead people piled up in hospitals, which is not a good look for the NHS or them. The private sector union jobs, the working class stuff, has mostly been shipped off to China and Eastern Europe.

Oh joy. It makes me very happy when someone comes up with a lovely new word to describe the woman Captain Pugwash named his ship after.

Abbopotamus Thumbs Up Spelling changed slightly so the the English Nazis (like me) won't get offended. Dance!

You have been rather quiet about that body on the M20. You know, the one you said was guaranteed to be an axle clinger. How did that work out for you soft lad?

I don't know. All i know is that he hasn't threatened a general strike. You claimed he had, and that's not true.

I hear this shit bandied about all of the time. Do you mean the people that voted leave didn't know and that the people that voted to remain all knew their onions?

I find that quite offensive. The most intellectual conversations on the matter that I have had, have been from people who voted to leave.
Oh and no, Immigration was not their main concern.

Generally people who voted leave voted about the EU as is, whereas people who voted remain voted for some other hypothetical EU of the future. Off the record the remain campaigners are quite unhappy with the EU, they just think in the future they can make things better, but they've not made much progress.

The remain argument for remaining in the EU never seems to address the issues with the EU, it's always just threats and intimidation. As an example, people complain about being ruled by fax from the EU. So what has remain got to say about this? Well, nothing really. So what about all the environmental regulations that strip the jobs in industries like aluminium and steel in the north? CAP payments that so benefit France? The way regulations are effectively made by lobby groups from corporations in restaurants to keep SMEs out of the market?

I still find it amazing that, given the % that the national press keep banding about, I've never seen an online discussion on Brexit where the leave and remain camp are roughly even.

It seems to me, this is purely anecdotal, that the remain camp must be pretty concentrated in a few, very large, social pockets, non of which I ever seem to interact with.

Does anyone, for example, work in an environment, or belong to a social group, who are predominately "remain" ?
