pre 78 mk1 golf.
40 yrs old = free tax and since may 2018 they are now also mot exempt, bonus of black silver plates will be going up in money now they are historic status.
you still need to apply for tax and fill in a v112 declaration annually though, first v112 needs to be shown at P.O but subsequent ones can be done online. |

The 2.0 gti petrol engines seem to be suffering balance shaft siezures.
And the diesels seem to be suffering dpf blockages and egr falures since the emissions software updates.
Have you though about the mercedes A class range? |
I lost a hell of respect for VW when i had my Scirocco GT (petrol), in the 12 months i owned it, it set me back well over £2k in repairs for various problems, a total of 7 trips to the garage in 12 months is not good
Biggest problem being the direct injection fuel injectors, at £200 each, plus fitting, the 1st 2 that went cost me over £500, then a week later a 3rd went, so replaced the other 2 for a total in excess of £1k
Then throttle body went, then throttle pedal, then various other things started going, i ended up doing a bush fix and flogging it to webuyanyshitter.com
Lost about £2k in purchase to selling price too, so lost over £4k in 12 months on an £8.5k Scirocco
On the flip side, i've had my replacement Civic Type S now for 18 months, and it has cost me the total of £75 for an ABS sensor in that time ____________________ Current Bike: Honda CG125 ES4 // Honda CB600FS Hornet // Triumph Street Triple R |
