Often when there is discussion about road safety, etiquette, etc, people mention that most bike riders also drive a car. I'm curious how many people here fall into that category, how many are pure bike riders and maybe how many regularly ride pushbikes as well.
Choose the option you feel fits closest if they don't really tell the full story, e.g. if you have an old pushbike in the garage but haven't ridden it for 2 years it doesn't really matter!
There are some non-bike options partly for completeness but people might be on the forum who don't yet have their CBT.

Car and motorbike for me.

535d gets used daily, my R100RT is currently a bare frame and engine as I turn it into a café racer. The bikes are more of a toy than a necessity. I'm tempted to get an old bandit or similar if the traffic around the black country gets much worse.

I selected Car & Motorbike, even though i do have a pushbike in the garage, it gets used very infrequently, and almost always off-road, i get no enjoyment out of riding a push bike on the road, far more fun along country paths/canal tow paths/woodland etc

Bike and Car. I'm pretty new to the bike though.
I'd also say I'm a lapsed cyclist.

All of the above, no option for me to vote. Car, Van, Bike, Scoot and Bicycles here.

In summary, I think Car drivers suck salty balls, van drivers suck salty balls, motorcyclists suck salty balls, scooterists suck
salty balls and cyclists suck salty balls. Thumbs Up Don't even get me started on Bus drivers. Mad

Bike and Car - but I use the bike every day to get to work, and only really use the car at weekends when I need to ferry the family around.

And I use a pushbike very occasionally in the summer Very Happy

Because I haven't ridden my pushbike on the roads for many years and ride it ocassionaly for fun on local bike lanes only, that somehow makes me not worthy to know about road safety related to pushbikes?

And somehow London knobheads that run a red lights on a daily basis on a pushbikes are somehow an experts in road safety?

WTAF you try to find out with that poll mate?

Nah, I think my intent came across wrong. I meant that if you have own a pushbike, e.g. in the garage and don't ride it, and don't feel like a pushbike rider then put whatever you feel is appropriate in the poll.

You clearly feel that you understand people who ride pushbikes on their daily commutes or for fun so that's cool.

My intent with the poll was to see roughly how many people drive/ride. I find it interesting that I'm the only "bike only" person so far. We have one car in our household but I'm not the owner. I do have a friend who owns a bike and no car as well, but he's not on this forum.

I think maybe the ideal for me in the future would be two bikes one van. We could commute by bike and use the van for things like mountainbiking or kitesurfing trips, and when transporting things the bikes would struggle with.

Three motorcycles (125 commuter, classic cx500 and vfr for longer commutes, touring and leisure rides) and we have a Fiesta ST in the household. It's mainly used by my fiancé but I drive it regularly, do most of the driving on trips away and take it out for the odd fun blast. I enjoy driving that car almost as much as the bikes on the right roads but I'd like to get it mapped to about 230bhp. The bikes are my primary transport though.

I also have a hardtail MTB but mostly ride off-road. I used to be into cycle touring but that stopped after I got run over and I got into motorised bikes.

I'd planned to add a campervan but that budget is now sadly going towards a wedding :/

Car & Motorbike. Car for when the weather is shit or I have a lot of stuff to carry, and I dont want to ruin my lovely new tracer with winter road salt and grime shit.

Before moving to London I used to enjoy cycling, road cycling is shit at the best of times but in London its basically suicidal. Sanjeeb in his minicab will run you off the road because he has to get to his next job, time is money! Or Vlad the Polski lorry driver whos currently on his 4th bottle of vodka is rummaging around in the footwell looking for his phone whilst doing 50 on the wrong side of the road. Or Chantelle driving hubbys BMW X5 to drive their 1 child the half a mile to school and has no idea how to drive - whilst facetiming "the girlfriends".

Nah, fuck that. Its bad enough riding a motorbike in London, at least on a motorbike youve got the power to get yourself out of trouble usually.

Also obligatory "all cyclists are pricks and should get off the road" statement. Nothing more annoying than being stuck behind a pack of lycra clad fuckwits "cycling club" out for a Sunday ride - taking up an entire lane of the road peddling uphill at the rate of an asthmatic snail. If you cant continuously keep up with the speed limit of the road, you shouldnt be allowed on the road.

I own 2bikes and a car. I also drive vans and <7.5T vehicles most work days, and I own 2 mtb's.

I ride my mountain bikes more than I use my bikes or car, but that's mostly due to not having my main bike for most of a year, and the car being off the road for several maintenance jobs.

I drive around 10'000miles a year though, and ride my mountain bikes 500-1000 miles a year maybe?

2 cars
3 bikes
No pushbikes

Car only gets used once a week to go to basketball practice 5mins down the road.

I think everyone applying for a driving licence should be forced to do a CBT and have 6 months on a 125 under their belt before they can take a driving test personally ...

Not everyone is capable of riding a bike. My mrs is a perfectly good driver (advanced qualified) but just can't ride a bike well enough to qualify. It would be stupid to deny her a driving license on that basis. Plus the significance extra cost

Dude I'm sure your missus could get a CBT, I'd expect even a dyslexic monkey to be capable of getting a CBT pass after 1-2days of training.

We need to cap/reduce the number of new car drivers coming through just due to sheer volume of traffic. A CBT requirement would be one helpful and useful way to achieve this aim.

She isn't unfortunately. For some reason she just had no confidence riding a bike and it means she panics all the time. It's strange because she's a competent car driver and has no issues being pillion. She did two days, smashed into a fence and called it quits. She's really wobbly on a pushbike too.
